Is there one in these drives or is the fan supposed to be on full-blast all the time? The drive itself isn’t noisey, but there is a small fan in the back of the chassis that is by far the loudest thing in my rack, including 1U servers with little screamer fans in them. Wed Mar 24, Feb 9, Posts: Mine is insanely loud, but I only hear it when I’m in the server room not often so it doesn’t bother me enough to do anything about it. It’s quite loud from the second you power up the drive, whether you’re running backups or not.
